Vtg Victorian 4 Strand Garnet Necklace, 14K Rose Gold Clasp with Seed Pearls Garnet

  
A gorgeous Victorian four strand faceted garnet necklace with a huge 14K rose gold clasp , set with seed pearls and a rose cut garnet in the center. The shortest strand measures about 17" long, including the clasp, with each of the other 3 strands being progressively 1" longer than the last. The decorative push-in clasp measures 1 1/8" x almost 1" and the center rose cut garnet is about 3/8 diameter. The garnet beads average about 3-4mm. Weight is 52.7 grams. The garnet beads are a deep burgundy wine, with a lot of shimmer. The rose gold clasp, though not marked, solidly tests as 14K. There are some natural inclusions which can be seen with a jeweler's loupe, but overall the necklace is in beautiful antique condition. It is completely wearable, but for the sake of security (very old stringing) it should probably be restrung at some point. A fabulous heirloom piece of Victorian jewelry!
